We are running summer sessions of our Ukulele and Guitar classes.  Scroll all the way down for all offerings.

Ukulele (4-6 years)  This 45-minute class, taught by teacher Abigail East introduces kids to the Ukulele in a setting which is fun and relaxed. Classes involve singing and movement, as well as rhythmic strumming exercises. Kids will learn to strum "C"  and "F" chords while singing simple songs, and will learn to play simple single-string melodies, as well as the C major scale. Activities teach the basics of the Ukulele,  and give young kids the opportunity to continue their music development while enjoying the challenge of learning an instrument.  Tuition includes a brightly colored Ukulele and case, for kids to keep! Maximum class size: 8 kids.

Tuesdays, 3:35pm (6 weeks)

Class dates:  June 24,  July  1, 8, 15, 21, 29.  

Tuition: $150 - add $15 registration fee for families new to the Music Center.  Tuition includes a ukulele and case for kids to keep. Prorated late registration available through week 2 (system automatically prorates).   *If you already have your own Ukulele, enter "nouke" coupon code to remove cost of Ukulele ($40) from your tuition.  All students must have a Ukulele in the class.   

Class dates: July 17, 24, 31, August 7

Group Beginning Guitar (8-10 yrs*)  *sometimes children under 8 years are admitted to the guitar program.  Contact us if your child is under 8 years.

These 45-minute classes taught by teachers Tim Pence and Steve Bilodeau, introduce students to simple melodies and chords, reading and theory fundamentals, and tuning.  An excellent opportunity for kids to begin their guitar studies in a fun group setting. Wednesdays, 4:30pm (6 weeks)   *JP location with teacher Steve Bilodeau.

Class dates:  July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, August 6.

Saturdays, 10:30am (8 weeks)  *Roslindale location with teacher Tim Pence.

Class dates:  June 7, 14, 21, 28 (no class July 5), July 12, 19, 26, August 2.
