This drop-off "pre-piano" class for 4-6 year-olds taught by teacher Christy introduces young children to the piano in a classroom setting which is fun and relaxed.  45-minute class includes activities and games which teach about the layout and range of the piano keyboard, as well as rhythmic movement and singing, allowing children to continue their basic music development. Classes include regular opportunities for piano improvisation to explore tempo, dynamics and expression. Children will learn to play and sing the major scale while being introduced to solfege syllables (do-re-mi), will be introduced to rhythmic notation, and will play single-note rhythmic pieces in duet with teacher. Many of our movement activities based upon philosophy and techniques of Dalcroze Eurhythmics.  There is no at-home practice required for this class, and you do not need to have a keyboard or piano at home.  Class size: 6 students
